VNA's annual “Shoo the Flu” campaign provides low-cost flu and pneumonia vaccinations to Indian River and Brevard county residents.

Immunization clinics will be offered at public locations (including churches, service organizations and homeowners' associations) from October through early January. For the public, the flu vaccine costs $28 per person and the pneumonia vaccine is $44 per person. Clients who present a Medicare or Health First Medicare HMO card at the time of immunization will have Medicare billed on their behalf.

Also available is a corporate program for local business owners who want to offer flu clinics on site for their employees. For corporate sites with 10 or more paid employees who sign a contract with the VNA, the flu vaccine costs $25 per employee and the pneumonia vaccine is $44 per person. If your company does not have 10 employees, a $25 administrative fee will be assessed.

Vaccinations will be administered to anyone over the age of 10 after the high-risk priority is lifted, usually the last week of October. A special family clinic will also be held at the VNA offices.
