Types of Gifts
Donations by Check, Cash or Credit Card
The most direct and immediate way to offer support, your gift will be deeply appreciated, whether in response to our mailed appeal or at a time convenient to you. As a non-profit organization, all gifts we receive are tax deductible to the full extent allowed by law. Please make checks payable to the VNA & Hospice Foundation. We accept Visa, MasterCard and American Express.
Memorial Gifts
One of the most meaningful ways to acknowledge the passing of a loved one is by offering a gift as a tribute to a life lived. Memorial gifts become part of our Memorial Fund, which supports charity care. Many times, families include a request for memorial gifts as part of the newspaper obituary. Often, individuals choose to make gifts in memory of their loved ones on birthdays or to mark the anniversary of their passing. A listing of the donors' names and addresses (but not the gift amount) is provided to the family of the deceased.
Honor Gifts
Gifts made in honor of a special occasion (such as a birthday, wedding or anniversary) are a thoughtful way to recognize the achievement while bringing comfort and care to the needy of our community. We are pleased to assist you in making the happy event more meaningful by notifying the honoree of your thoughtful act.
Matching Gifts
Many employers will match your charitable donation, thereby doubling (or more) your thoughtful gift. Matching gift forms, available through your company's human resources office, provide the necessary details and instructions.
Gifts of Stock or Other Assets
A gift of stock which has appreciated in value over time, can be a wonderful way to benefit the VNA & Hospice Foundation, while also allowing you to minimize your taxes. Making a thoughtful gift of an asset such as real estate, stocks or bonds, life insurance, or IRA's could prove extremely beneficial to you as well as provide generous support to the recipient charity. Planned Gifts
Any type of gift which requires planning in advance, can be included in the category of planned gifts. The Foundation Office can provide you with more information.
Bequests
The most popular and well understood type of planned gift, a bequest, is your wish, as stipulated in your will, to designate a gift to the VNA & Hospice Foundation, Inc. Your bequest may be made for a specific amount of money, for a percentage of your assets, or a percentage of your residual estate (the amount left after all your specific bequest assignments have been fulfilled). A bequest can also be a gift of other types of assets such as real estate or stock. By making a bequest, you help ensure the future of the VNA & Hospice Foundation, by choosing to leave a lasting legacy of care and hope. Please contact the Foundation Office for more information.
